Goldenvoice presents ESTRONS with KING NUN & HUSKY LOOPS at The Boston Music Room!
ESTRONS’ rip-roaring Make A Man scored them spots on Noisey and Best Fit, the latter who praised the band for “raucous riffing and relentless yells”.
But the track was so much more than just a whirlwind of frantic guitar lines and pulse-raising vocals. With it, the Welsh quartet flipped female objectification on its head and found themselves getting prime time spins on Radio 1.
Returning with rushing new cut Drop, that’s exactly what your jaw will be doing at Boston Music Room in February.

ROCK FEEDBACK PRESENTS STRAND OF OAKS AT OSLO HACKNEY! (Avoid booking fee using the Dice App)
“Drama is no stranger for Timothy Showalter. His first wife had an affair while he was away on tour, his house burned down leaving him destitute, and a freak car crash on Christmas Day last year gifted him with a chest of broken ribs. However, it’s these devastations that informed and pushed him further to create folk rock songs that deliver heart-wrenching honesty and a clawing narrative with fierce melody and drive. Releasing Heal in 2014 it found its way onto a multitude of prestigious end of year lists. Returning to our shores this February in time to regale with new material from his forthcoming album Hard Love, Strand Of Oaks is an artist you can really believe in.”

DOUBLE DUCKWORTH HORROR LAUNCH / SIGNING – THE TRUANTS AND THE RISEN – WITH AUTHORS LEE MARKHAM & TARM RICHARDSON! “In Lee Markham’s THE TRUANTS, the last of the ‘old-ones’ – ancient immortal beings, as clever as they are ruthless and unable to withstand the light of the sun – has decided to end his immortality. As he sits on a bench on the edge of a council estate to await his demise with the rising of the sun, he is mistaken for an old man, held up at knifepoint by a young man and stabbed before the sun burns his body to ashes. His assailant scurries back into the belly of the estate with the knife in his pocket, the blood of the old-one seared into its sharpened edge.
But once the blade cuts another person, the congealed blood mingles with that of its victim, and awakens in them the old-one’s consciousness from the depths of the afterlife. In Tarn Richardson’s THE RISEN, it’s 1917. As war and revolution consume the world, the End Times have arrived. With the apocalypse imminent, the world needs a hero to push back this tide of darkness and save all from the return of the Antichrist. But where is Poldek Tacit, the only Inquisitor able to compete against such daunting odds?” 6-7pm – Forbidden Planet, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, WC2H 8JR.

THE MOONLANDINGZ @ ELECTRIC BRIXTON. Richard from The London Indie Meet-Up: “I’ve been going on about The Moonlandingz for a while now (or at least to anyone who’s asked for my gigs of the year so far), because they’re ace! They started life as a fictional band for an Eccentronic Research Council concept album, and developed into an act in their own right. Think a funky version of Fat White Family (which isn’t too surprising given that half their members are in the band), with all the attitude and stage-presence that goes with that. This is (apparently) the last chance to see them live before they go back to being Fat Whites again!” Electric Brixton, Town Hall Parade, Brixton, SW2 1RJ.
